Maybe it's not the bread of life, life is bread or bread is life. I don't know these thoughts are so kneeded? together that this will send me on days of contemplation. Is there anything more soulful or good for the soul than bread other than the breaking of bread alone and/or with companions.

Ending the other comment with companions is not an accident. I have always wanted to have educational resources developed around the book Companioning the Bereaved: A Soulful Guide for Caregivers by Alan Wolfelt. I also was facinated by a school or movement in France in which the participants were called "the Companions" except in French it sounds better. This is from the book jacket of Companioning the Bereaved, "Dr. Wolfelt coined the term "companioning" to capture this model of care. The word "companion" when broken down into its original Latin roots, means "messmate": com for "with" adn pan for "bread." Someone you would share a meal with, a friend, an equal. While Gale continues her active imagination I'll continue my contemplation privately now.
